Wren is 3! {Oak Harbor Portraits}

25 Sep, 2018

September is the most insane month of the year for me. I am wrapping up wedding season, school is starting, I have birth classes (new addition this year!) soccer season starts, and fall photo sessions are gearing up. I wouldn’t have it any other way, I love the chaos, usually once it is over, ha! But also in September, happens to be our little Wren Olivia’s birthday. Wren, Wrenny, Wren-o-ben, and whatever superhero or princess she is for the day. She is full of spunk, mischief, and life. She is our nature girl, and also maybe a little bit spoiled as our last little one. I was able to sneak in a few photos on a sunny afternoon just one mere week after her birthday! Here she is frolicking in our backyard:

Johnson Family {South Whidbey Group Family Session}

18 Jul, 2018

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to photograph this super fun family session. I have to say, sometimes doing large group family photos can be a bit challenging. Coordinating schedules with a large group, helping keep things from getting too crazy, maybe some bribery for the small kids, etc… it’s not for the faint of heart. But I am usually up for the challenge, because I get to meet a lot of fun people and it reminds me so much of my personal family get togethers.  Read More

Bartis Family {Skagit Valley Families}

13 Jul, 2018

O.M.G. This family was a dream come true. We adventured in Rasar State Park in between Burlington and Concrete. I was a little worried about the bright daylight at that time of day, but it filtered through the tall trees beautifully. After driving around the parking lot about 3 or 4 times like a creeper, I found Lindsay & fam all ready to go and looking amazing. Read More

Jamersons… + Alan {Everett Families}

8 Jan, 2018

Oh my gosh. So. I’ve been holding onto these images for AGES. I was counting down the days until after the holidays and all Christmas/New Year letters and cards were sent out. Because these images are just… the best. And everyone needs to see them.

My sister Keira is one of a kind. She is generous, beautiful, full of life, and doesn’t let anything hold her down. She is married to Jason who is also all of those things, and keeps everyone around him laughing. I admire their relationship and have always used theirs as an example for my #relationshipgoals. They are also the biggest die-hard Seattle Sounders fans I have ever met! So of course we had to include a few photos in their Sounders gear.

And then there’s Alan. Read More

Mollitor Family {Military Homecoming}

4 Jan, 2018

The last day of 2017 was really special for me, my friend Alyssa messaged asking if I was able to go along to help welcome home her husband from his deployment. Alyssa and I not only share the same name, we were pregnant with our last babies at the same time! We even did a refresher birth class together. She is an incredible teacher at Connor’s school, and I love her sweet kids. I was so excited to be asked to photograph their reuniting with Brian.

Graves Family {2017 Families}

15 Dec, 2017

The Graves family! I love this family, and this was my 4th family session I have done for them, which just makes my heart happy. I know that’s cheesy. Haha. Kim and I work together with the Island Birth Association, and she teaches a variety of birth classes here locally. I would HIGHLY recommend any of her birth classes, super informative and well taught. I believe she has an online series as well. So, let me know if you want the hook up!

We decided this year to shoot indoors for multiple reasons. First and foremost, it was raining. Second, Brian was leaving and it was the last weekend we could do a shoot. Third, I wanted to check out this local new indoor spot. So really, it all worked out great. We went to a newly renovated building downtown on Fidalgo Ave, called The Loft. It’s an up and coming spot, with some awesome new businesses coming in the spring. The light upstairs is gorgeous, and I was excited to do our shoot there. AND it kept us nice and dry.

Baby Lily {In Home Newborn Session}

6 Dec, 2017

Introducing the newest addition to my extended family, my niece Lily! She is the sweetest, and most calm little baby, who loves cuddles with this proud Auntie. I unfortunately was unable to be at her birth, but not for lack of trying! My incredible sister in law went from water breaking to holding a new baby in her arms in an hour and 45 minutes. Isn’t that just amazing? What a whirlwind birth for sure. As soon as I got there I got to give Lily some sweet snuggles and hang out at the hospital. Later that week I was so excited to go back to their home and photograph this new family of 5.

Here are a few of my favorites! The one of her in her daddy’s hands really show how tiny she is. She is an itty bitty little thing, but so perfect. Read More

Tafa Family {2017 Families}

15 Nov, 2017

This was such a great session! I have known Camlynn since I was in middle school. She and my older sister are close friends, and have been forever. I think the earliest memory I have from Camlynn is her going through her closet and giving me hand me downs from WSU, and wearing a sweatshirt from WSU around Oak Harbor Middle School like I was the coolest person ever, and someone might think I was a college student visiting. Pretty much sums me up from middle school, haha. She also has been a great friend to my sister, and I have enjoyed getting to know her and her husband as I’ve gotten older and can hang out with the “cool kids” at family parties now!

I occasionally throw out that I’m available in the early morning for photo sessions, and schedule wise that seemed to be our best option to get these photos done in time for Christmas. That is the one major downside about Washington fall, it’s RAIN rain rain rain rain all the time. So we take what we can get when we can! Read More
