This is a lot out of my usual box, and reminded me a lot of my “earlier work.” I loved it. Micah is one of my oldest friends, and when he asked me to photograph his beard for posterity it was an obvious yes. I wanted to do more of a film look, with cooler hues and more grain than usual. We shot during blue hour, and I increased my ISO to let more light and added to the grain. I also messed around with some double exposures (at the end of this set), laying over images from my yard onto the images in camera. I had a lot of fun, and it was nice to go out of the box and do something more me. It brought me back to camera lab days, and has me itching to shoot on actual film again soon.
